Lisa Edelstein is an American actress, best known for her role in the Fox medical drama, House. Raised in Wayne in conservative Jewish traditions, she moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in acting at the Tisch School of the Arts. The school was heavily involved in the club scene in New York City, and did enough to be noticed in the press. At the same time she began to become conscious of AIDS and its devastating impacts. She utilised both her musical training and fame to make and appear in a brand new musical called Positive Me. Soon after, she was offered a job at MTV and was the host of Awake to the Wild Side. Once it went off the air, she was able to appear in films and television production, initially in short roles and gradually established herself as an actress.
